Default Aluminium Rods Clearances

Would anyone with experience of running aluminium rod motors be willing to share the big end clearances that should be run.

I have GRP aluminium rods which came with a recommendation sheet but these seem more relevant to a V8.

My setup is a 1000 plus hp K series fuel is E85 and oil is 10/60 fully synthetic

Many Thanks

With using Brad Penn 20w50 oil I target .0033 to .0036 on the big end. I use GRP Pro series AL rods

DAMN! I targeted .0025 on my GRP's this past year with the same oil. Maybe its time to pull the HX bearings from the shelf. I havn't pulled them though to read them.

Once the GRP's get up to temp the clearances tighten up. Remember, aluminum expands equally in all directions.

I put the rods in the oven and got them up to operating oil temp and then mic'd the journals. Then I did bearing sizing and came up with what clearances I wanted.
