Default Camshaft Seal question

We just put a new head on this 98 F23A1 and it is throwing oil all over the timing belt im almost positive my brother didnt place the cam seal correctly we drove it 20miles home and all is good except the leak.

My question is, is it possible to fix this with out removing timing belt AGAIN? Its differently leaking behind the CAM Gear.

Nope, you gotta pull the sprocket to get to the seal. That means removing the belt.

If you used an aftermarket seal, you have to put some grease on the inner lip of the seal for it to break in properly, or it got caught turned as he pressed it on, which is a result of not putting grease on the lip as well.

Actually there is a way to replace it w/o removing the entire timing belt. Nus_dogg actually talked about it in one of his post. It worked for me. Remove the covers, mark the belt and the cam gear with a marker and remove the belt but make sure it doesn't move off the other gears. Remove the cam gear and seal and replace the seal at the same mark. Before starting this make sure you are at TDC just in case.

I kinda figured he was talking about removing the belt from the sprocket.
