Default Front window regulator - same for hatch and sedan?

My '90 hatchback needs a new driver-side window regulator. I bought a Dorman 740-446 off ebay and the listing said sedan and hatch in the compatibility list. The other listings for the 740-446 were 50/50 on if they were for sedan+hatch, or just sedan.

I jumped on majestic and checked part numbers for left-front regular for hatch and sedan. I see two different part numbers, but the regulators look the same.

Are they interchangeable, or can they be made to be interchangeable? I already paid for that Dorman unit and if it doesn't work I can return it to seller due to it being incompatible. I couldn't find any specifically for a hatch even on Dorman's website. That tells me they should be interchangeable but I figured I'd ask here since I'm sure numerous people have tried it.

Not the same. Can be tweaked to work but not really recommended if you need a replacement.

I tried looking again for hatch specific regulators and still can't seem to find any. Most of what I find are the dorman units like the one I already ordered.

By tweaks do you mean replacing the spring and bottom bar with the ones from my regulator?

Yes pretty much.

Just get junkyard replacements on eBay or something. You're not searching hard enough if you can't find it.

I'll just replace the bottom bar and spring since that dorman regulator is already on the way here.

My regulator still works but one of the arms was bent all to hell due to catch on a bolt that was too long(I had replaced this regulator about 2 years ago). I thought it was just a PITA to roll up/down until yesterday when it finally bent. Now the window doesn't roll up straight. The spring and bottom bar are still fine.
