Default Power Steering Delete

It's friggin annoying to find so many posts on this topic from 11 years ago and not be able to see the pictures!

I am going to have to do without power steering and I've seen ways of either swapping out the PS rack to manual or using the power rack and emptying the PS fluid and cutting then looping the hoses. Has anyone tried either? Which is better?

Now my real question is… Can I just empty out the PS fluid and put a couple breathers on the ends of the power steering hoses without having to cut them? I ask because I prefer to have power steering and if in the future I figure out how I want to put it back on and I don't want to have to buy all the hoses again.

I saw a post on this where no pictures were available and I think it may have worked. Everyone else shot the guy's idea down because most everyone wants a lighter vehicle which means taking as much weight out as possible. I don't care if it's lighter. I want a reliable car with good gas mileage. I doubt 5lbs will matter much in my situation.

Watching my wife move my civic (no PS) = epic haha

I'll take a look and see what the previous owner did, have never really taken the time to look, just lived with no PS. Personally I like having it because it makes it alot easier to turn when slowly rolling but hey... ill post later what i find.
