Driver's side headlight issue
1998 Civic EX coupe stock w/ MT
No headlight issue since I bought it one year ago. Recently, my son and his buddy install ballast and Ebay HID 8K bulbs (no projectors). Works for a few days and then driver's side bulb burns out. Put the old Halogen's back in a the driver's side light still out. Replace 10A headlight fuse and both work again. Son decides to try ballast/HID and doesn't work, puts Halogen back in and driver's side doesn't work, replaces fuse again and still doesn't work. The passenger side is fine and we used it's bulb in the driver's side with no luck.
Is there a relay that might be bad?
Any assistance much appreciated.

Sounds like you may have a short somewhere, and the second time he put the HID kit on the jumped passed the first fuse and went into the switch part of the relay possibly for that light. Trace it up and use a test-light to see where power stops showing.
