Bleakened

Title says it all.

1998 Civic DX Hatch. Mostly stock automatic.

I had a HID kit that was working fine for months when 1 bulb turned colors, dimmed and died.
Took out the HID kit on that side and went back to stock wiring harness and no matter what kind of halogen bulb I put in, the 10A fuse blows.

I bought a new headlight socket and reconnected everything with butt connectors but it still blows after a couple seconds.

Wires down to the loom look good. Not frayed, melted, burned, cut or damaged at all as far as I can tell.

Any ideas, H-T?

Remove both headlight bulbs. Turn on light switch. Does fuse still blow?

This stopped the fuse from blowing. I investigated further to try and get it to blow by changing minor things 1 step at a time and re-trying.

....aaaand now I have everything back to the way it was and it will not blow. All is working again. -_-

Maybe seating problems with the connector? Would the passenger headlight + HID setup affect my driver side headlight? (forgot to say it was only left driver side fuse that was blowing)

I feel the it's solved for now but the problem wasn't truly fixed. Any ideas until it shows up again?
