Just got back my Honda from a Honda repair company, and they replaced the previous pump because it was making noise at around idle to 1K rpm's. They indicated that the noise was an overly tight seal? Anyways, they replaced that pump and I noticed that the new pump makes a rarrr noise, hard to describe, at around 1-1.5K rpm's. Other than that, it is quiet. I thought about taking it back, but might just call them to let them know, so that if it gets worse, I can take it back with no issues.

Is there a break in time for pumps? Are some pumps "noisey"? Thanks...

 

Do you know if they used OEM or Aftermarket? (Im assuming they used OEM) My assumption is that the water pump should not make any noise. I've done them on my TL, and EM1, with no noise at all.

Are you sure that its coming from the pump itself, and not somewhere else?
