93 Ex manual Trans Issue
My transmission has been acting poorly lately. It doesnt slip but it is slowly becoming harder to push the stick into gear lately. Im guessing its one of the bearings, but it seems like only at a stop is it more noticable with 5th gear unaffected in all cases. Depending on the problem, Im trying to decide if its worth just replacing the clutch and bearings now, or ride it out until I swap the engine and trans. (Sometime within the next 6 monthes hopefully)
Have you tried bleeding and/or replacing the fluid for the clutch master/slave cylinder? Have you tried adjusting the pedal clip (it's threaded but I forget the actual name of it)?
Yes, transmissions can get "Grumpy" over time as the syncros and sleaves wear...
I would try a fluid change and see if it helps.....
Factory is 10w30 conventional oil, or try a synthetic or GM syncromesh....
One of the main things that goes first is the input shaft bearing....
-- Makes a low growl when car is running, in neutral, with foot off of the clutch....

I will try changing the fluid first to the oil and go from there, though Im sure stuff needs replaced, its 176k on the original clutch and bearings.

op, try syncromesh they sell it at most autoparts stores in a yellow bottle, its fixed many tranny woes for many honda owners.
Ive had good luck with Pennzoil Synchromesh.
If you're racing, seeing extreme temperatures, etc Torco MTF works very well.
