Default 2004 Odysseus shift lock issues

Every time we park our Odyssey, the park indicator turns off once we take our foot off the brake pedal. This causes the sliding doors to not work and when we restart the van, we cannot shift out of park without rocking the van until the 'P' lights up, or using the shift lock override

Anyone know what causes this?

I was having a similar issues with the shift lock on my 1999 Odyssey, in hot weather it would not shift out of park without pushing in the shift lock, then the brake lights stopped working. It turns out it was a switch that is mounted to the top of the brake peddle. Had that replaced and it works again. Might be a good place to start looking.
