Honda Manual Transmission fluid is amazing
I just wanted to comment on Honda Manual Transmission fluid.
About 3 months ago my tranny went bad and I pulled a junkyard '93 Accord tranny and swapped it in. I wasn't planning on having the used tranny for long so I bought some cheap Kragen engine oil 10w30. This tranny has a bad input shaft bearing already but I noticed I it had a 2nd gear grind at low rpms and the legendary 5th gear grind that this tranny and the 5th gen preludes have. However within the first month I noticed when high revving it was grinding into all gears. So about 2 weeks ago I swapped the fluid out for Honda Manual Transmission fluid since I wanted to prolong the tranny before I could get to it and immediately I could tell the tranny was shifting so much better however it would still 2nd gear grind at redline vtec revs and the 5th gear grind was still prevalent however all other gears refuse to grind anymore. As of the last couple days even the 2nd gear grind is completely gone.
Just wanted to suggest that at only $15 for a couple jugs and I picked up a cool $2 tranmission funnel this is a hell of a deal. I really wish I didn't have a bad input shaft bearing since I can't fix that with my HMT fluid replacement lol but at any rate this is great.
Granted, yes the Kragen fluid probably wasn't any good anyhow, it's amazing the difference.

Yes. I used 10W30 oil in my tranny once. It caused me to have rough shifting. Shortly after, I went back to Honda MTF. The difference was amazing. I am a big believer in certain Honda parts, and MTF/ATF are some of the important ones for me.
