i have one of those but never tried to put on the little filter that came with the kit. does it sound louder or more silent?

 

i was told it was for high boost apps.....but honestly i dont know. i

 

The filter made my friends quieter.

 

A friend of mine has one in his carlos sianz GT4 celica, and without the filter thingy its an extremely loud whooosh on lift off, he runs it without the filter, and its definetly way louder than any other bov i've heard

 

With mine it didnt make a difference at all...

 

I had one in my old turbo'd civic hatchback. IMO, it's the best sounding bov I've ever heard. Also, a bov isn't gonna make a noticable difference in really any car. The aftermarket ones are mainly for sound.
