Replaced Transmission life expectancy: how long?
Hi!
Just joined. I own a '03 Honda Accord with a terrible slipping transmission. I took it into get looked at and I was told that it needs a new (what I understand to be the taking apart, fixing and putting together) transmission. My question is, before I go out and spend a bunch of money on a big job, how long can I expect this new transmission to last?
Is there an average life expectancy for replaced transmissions in Honda Accords? I was told that I should expect to get 1-2 years out of it.
Please do share your knowledge and experience.
Thanks,
Gershon

All depends on the rebuild and how the "new" one is cared for? So, really hard to call.
I'd call around to a few other shops not only for price but to hear what they say.
I thought most places gave a 3 yr/36K mile warranty.

I've heard about this company before, supposed to be quality work. I have no idea how true it is.
