I need a silicone coupler to connect my short ram intake to my throttle body and I wasn't sure which size I should buy. My intake size is 3" and my throttle body is 2.25", should I buy the 3" to 2.25" coupler or 3.25" to 2.50" coupler?

I wasn't sure if I should get it abit bigger or the the exact size because I don't know if I'm going to have problems putting it on the pipe if it's the same size has the coupler

 

Adapter/coupler size dimensions are ID. So you want to match the OD of the TB and tube. I just ordered one for my Y8 intake to my AEM tube, 2.5" to 2.75".

 

Isn't the throttle body size on the y8 a 2.25"?

 

I just double checked the OD is 2.5". The OD on my SRA is 2.75"

You apparently need a 3 to 2.5" coupler.

 

I saw on a few forum sites that the OD on the y7 and y8 TB are 56 mm which is 2.2". I need one for my y7 and I was basing my measurements of those that I got off the forums sites. Now I'm just confused.

Those are inside diameters. My trusty Starrett calipers tell me my Y8 outside diameter is ~2.5".

Got my coupler in and it fits perfect. 2.75-2.5"

 

it just occurred to me....why didn't OP just go out there with a little ruler and measure

 

He has a Y7 and it is a bit of a PIA to take the airbox off just to get one measurement.
