Im hoping someone can help me out a little bit. Just rebuilt the motor and tranny on my 98 honda civic ex. I have 3 bolts left and can't find out where they go. I know they have to be something ouside the motor being that they are rusted pretty good. The heads and the start of the threads are rusted. which makes me think they go all the way through something. but i dont know what. they are 10mm heads and 1.75in long with a washer on them. the threads go about 3/4 of the way up the bolt Please need help bad

 

The bolts for the exhaust manifold cover, maybe.

Those are really long bolts for 10mm head. I suspect they are for air box or fender/body mounts like PS res..

 

Exhaust cover uses 12mm head bolts

What you're describing sounds like the bolts that hold the cam caps in
1.75" tall 3/4 thread

And I don't recall any of the past b series and d series I've rebuilt having a 10mm head size bolt with a washer.
Are you sure it's a washer? Or is it the bolt with the flat bottom on the head of the bolt?

I know they aren't to the exhaust manifold cover cause I don't have one and airbox is ruled out too because I have a cai. And I bought a remain head for my build cause my head was junk so I hope its not cam caps. Yes I am positive they are washers. And there is 3 all same size
