B20vtec bearings
I'm currently building a b20vtec, I've already had the motor line bored and the crank cleaned up. My question is should I buy oem bearings from honda or just buy the bearing set sold by clevite. At the moment I'm using stock rods, but If do end up buying eagle rods would that change what rod bearings I should buy?
Any comments would be appreciated Thanks.

Clevites haven't been the same in years, since they've changed manufacturing facilities. I'd use OEM HOnda bearings, but use a micrometer or plastigage to get measurements of EACH journal, since it was cleaned up and line bored.
Using oem honda bearings you have more control over getting the exact clearances you want, but in some cases (like mine) that all were green, i was able to use acl race bearings and be within the clearances I wanted. If not using oem I would recommend acl race. Good luck with build.
Plastigage and use ACL/Clevites on the journals that is within specs. Use Honda OEM bearings on the rest if you need too...
I have used ACL bearings in combination with OEM Honda and it works fine with eaglerods.
The ACL race bearing is good for long distance race, but will damage the crank faster if the oil is contaminated due to a new build + bad cleaned block. The standard ACL bearings are softer and can pick up contaminants better.

I haven't noticed any material quality differences with Clevite, however I have noticed the tolerance per set of bearings has changed. I was getting consistent shells with .0001-.0002 deviation per pack. Now I see as much as .0004. So long as you can accurately measure the bearing clearance you should be fine.
Unless Shodan is speaking about another issue I havent encountered.
