i was just thinking how a lot of newer cars have a plastic tether attached to the gas cap, so when you unscrew it you just let it hang from the tether, or other cars have a gas cap holder on the inside of the gas filler door to put the cap, instead of having to put it on the roof of the car like i do.
i saw they sell universal gas cap tethers on jc whitney, just wondering if anyone has used one on their crx ? if it fits them ok ? or is there a way to just make one yourself ?

if you scroll down on this post, a guy tells how to make a holder for the cap, using one from an acura model :

Only question I have is how you would attach it to the gas cap. I don't look at mine often. I would guess you could 'glue' it to it with something like JBweld or drill a hole. I don't see any reason this won't work. But I also don't see any reason the roof doesn't work either.

its not anything i have to have, just a little thing that makes it better,
but i think those universal things have like a metal ring that clasps around the gas cap, around the inner part right under the cap edge, and probably has a plastic thing that is a tether hanging from the metal ring on the cap which attaches to a plastic thing that clasps around the outside of the filler hole, like a ziptie,
thats just how i think it works but not totally sure cause i have'nt tried using one.
usually i always had a big list of things i needed to fix or do to my car for several years, but recently i finally got to a point where i got most of the things done and crossed off the list, so i think what happens is, that now i am thinking of other things to do to my car since most of the important stuff is done already, so i think of stupid little things like this lol, i'm one of those people who would'nt want a brand new car, cause then there would'nt be anything to do to it? since its already done for you, i tend to like having an old used car cause i like the challenge of having to figure out how to fix something once a problem comes up.

ej1995, can you tell me how you made those brackets ? what did you use for the brackets ? and how did you attach them to the inside of the gas filler door ? glue ?
i was'nt going to get a universal tether, and was'nt going to get a gas cap holder from car such an acura that had them, i was just going to make a holder out of something found around the house and glue it or something or use double sided tape or velcro, but i was curious to hear how you did yours ?

thanks, thats a good idea, not sure what a rare earth magnet is ? but i'll google it and find out
i found out how those universal tethers work, the other end of the tether has a plastic ring at the end, that part goes under one of the nuts which is around the filler hole, and tighten the nut over it and holds it, before i did'nt know where that end attached to ?
