OEM Airbox + AEM SRI?
I posted this on clubrsx and so far ive gotten nothing but silly responses like "get a dog sled" and "i dont even know how thats possible" and since they cant get past that they cant help me.......sad rly it is, and so im here and hoping to hear from honest ppl who understand the idea and the innitial problem that caused it. Alright here we go
Due to rather nasty conditions where I live I have been forced to remove my AEM SRI and return to a factory airbox for the winter months. Is there anything to be gained by chopping my AEM SRI intake in half and using the one half to attach from the throttle body to the airbox? If cut correctly it can easily be reused in summer months with a simple silicone coupler.
Worth a shot?
Now the back story, I live in Calgary, Alberta and we recently recieved a seriously nasty blizzard. I went for a short drive and managed to get thru pretty much everything except for a few nasty sections which i high centred, i am running kuhmo kw22's studded up front and generic winters(no studs) on rear(they dont drive the car anyway), i managed to rock myself out each time i got stuck(love these kuhmos u have no idea!!!), when i got home and popped the hood to inspect everything i found my aem sri filter 100% covered and plugged with snow, put it in the kitchen sink let it melt, put it over a heat duct in my home and dried it, put it back on, 12 hours later i went out again, got stuck again, rocked myself out again lol, and the filter was covered again
at this point i removed the sri and installed my oem airbox.

very good point indeed, i will be racing however, tho you still win because ice racing and more power does not equal winning lol quite the opposite in some cases.
I doubt you would even get a gain out of that.
You slightly improve your flow from box to TB, but overall air intake is still restricted at the box.

You could always do the Hondata airbox mod.
