Carb D-Series to B-Series Converion, help please?
Hey guys, long time visitor and finally got my a** around to joining
Basicially im from Ireland, currently driving a Jdm D15b Dual Carb Ef2 Civic Hatch. its a great car but ive got the Vtec bug bad and just hoped some of you dudes with the expertise might be able to help me on my way to a conversion (im looking to do most of the work myself , bar some tricky wiring im expecting, ive got a place to sent the car to for these final touches)
Carb'ed Ef's seem to be kinda rare in the U.S. but as I said this seems to be the place for all sort of genuine help
So Far ive found I will need the following for a swop:
- An Injection Fuel Tank, Pump and Lines (I have these got already from a LHD crx, should be possible to extend the lines to go from the 'passenger' side of my RHD Ef, to go on my 'drivers' side)
- An Engine, engine loom and cable box (Currently deciding between a b16a1 or a2, depending on how hard wiring an a2 is, and a y2 cable box)
- A Dash Loom from ef9/da6 (Can anyone confirm this?)
- Ef9/EE9 clocks (again can this be confirmed please?)
- Engine Mounts (Ill go Hasport or Innovative)
- Vtec Driveshafts (Ef9/ee9/ef8/ee8 will work, maybe others too?)
- Vtec Ecu (and possibly a harness, depending on what engine etc.
- Gear Linkages (Hasport or Innovative again)
- Vtec front Hubs ( going to test fit my d-series first with a spare hub I have with a spare b-series shaft a friend has, they may fit)
As Far as I can see, this is my complete shopping list, or am I forgetting anything for a successful swop? I know it's gonna be a pain in the a**, but ef9's are rare and over-priced in Ireland, and I know I have a clean, rust-free shell that's worth the effort.
If any of the above is wrong please correct me, im still learning after spending a couple of months looking up info bit by bit, the dash loom and clocks seems to be the hardest to find info for, as in I don't know if d15b dual carb clocks and dash loom will work for a B-series.
A lot of the same info applies for d-series injection swops to b-series, bar the tank and lines as far as im aware.
-im just wondering will running an obd1 ecu and loom give me trouble with an ef9 dash loom if its needed, as it's easier for me to find a b16a2 (obd1) rather than an obd0 b16a1. I don't know if these have to 'mate' or are independent, wiring isn't my scene lol
Thanks in Advance for any help that can be given, im sure I aint the only person currently trying this

easiest wiring will be a stand alone wire harness jumpped in to your ef an EK harness is a good start use an obd1 jumper and youre ready to run what ever ecu you want.
