Default B16b

I Have a b16 type r
Stock motor and LSD trans
I want to build the head
Everything is stock besides a PLM header and a apexi ws2 exhaust...
I'm interested in doin a port n polish/valve job and new springs/retainers...
And after a tune i was just wondering will I see any gains by just doing that???

I'll answer your post exactly how it can be answered by what you provided.

1. Cool motor
2. LSD in nice
3. What is your budget? Goals? Let me guess...200whp
4. What PLM header are you running? A SRI w/ V-stack would be a nice upgrade as well.
5. PnP work is a plus if done and utilized properly. What springs/retainers and cams are you thinking of?
6. Yes

In short, you would be better off incresing the displacement of the bottom end, say to a 1.8L. It will make more power, and be done with a crankshaft swap

^^ I didn't wanna jump to any comclusions on the guy, although we all know displacement is where power is made. I'm guessing a rotating assembly swap may be out of his capabilities based off his first questions...I tried to keep it simple.
BUT I do have a spare B20 rotating assembly if he is interested

I Have the same block but it has a 1.8 spoon stroker kit.

my set up:

1.8 Spoon stroker kit
factory PCT CTR pistons
stock head, factory dual valve springs, retainers etc
Buddy Club Spec III Cams+Gears[not +III]
3 row factory crank pulley with A/C belt on
EBay ETD stage 2 6puk clutch[garbage]
S2 first gen intake manifold
ITR Bored out TB
RC 310cc injectors
factory fuel rail
factory fuel pump
AEM short ram intake
ARP GSR/ITR head studs
OEM 3 layer head gasket
Hytech replica headers
5" test pipe lol
Apexi WS2 cat back exhaust

Tuned on Chrome on a chasis dyno[Parris Engine Dynamic, Stockton, CA]
203HP 111 ft lbs torque

power band all the way to 9k Redline

I think my numbers can be in the 220hp due to a bad clutch, restricted exhaust and running 16" JDM ITR rep rims 205/45/16 Yokohama Prada Tires

My future upgrade.

3" catback exhaust with a 3" Vibrant exhaust
Competition Clutch Stage 2 full face clutch

^ That SPOON stroker kit is nothing but an OEM P73 ITR crank, OEM P73 ITR rods, and OEM P73OO ITR pistons that SPOON has balanced. Thus it turns a B16B into a B18C.

LOL at the 111tq
Also stock VT on those cams? Risky business.

You will only get 220 to the wheels on that setup with some extensive headwork bigger cams, or a high reading dyno.

Yea I'm not digging the Torque myself bro. I think the clutch isn't putting the power to the ground. I also think I need lighter rims.

I built this motor for fun not worried about popping it honestly. I just took it to 9k @120 MPH tonight lol

I will be putting in my Supertech Dual Valve Springs & Retainers along with the other upgrades I mentioned above. :crossing my fingers for higher numbers:

doing a serious port job with stock cams and bottom end, will yield no gains and make it a pita to drive.

Check out omnimans 2oowhp b16 dvd.
