Upon a cold start my car idle will surge up and down for about a minute. I've taken my car into the shop about 4 times to get it fixed and it seems like nothing the mechanic has done has helped. He just replaced the whole throttle body this time and it still does it on a cold start. I'm not sure if he's tried cleaning the actual ICV or not but it's getting really annoying and i just wanna know what else it could be... It stops surging once it's warmed and won't do it again unless i let it cool for a couple hours (or overnight). Leaving it for a couple hours results in surging for about 5 seconds instead of a minute or 2.
What could this be from? It's so irritating!!

 

Clean the IACV and FITV.

I just installed a set of IACV and FITV block off plates. Easier fix for me lol.

Your problems matched mine. I took my fitv under the intake manifold and replaced it. Doesnt do it anymore.

Beware, it is a 100 dollar part.

No problem son. Get that FITV outta there and replace it. Grab some adjustable hose clamps from oriellys to clamp the hose back on the FITV. The old one is garbage and wont work again.
