Default 96 accord tranny swap

Hey, I'm new here so not totally sure how this works.

I have 96 accord auto with an f22 vtec - and I'd like to convert it to manual. I was wondering what the best route to go as far as a swap would be. One option would be swap out the tranny only- no idea how hard and how much money that could be. Or is it not a lot more work or money to swap out the whole engine with an h22a with a manual tranny? I've read this is fairly easy, and should fit in my car? Question should be how long would it take a shop to do these swaps as I don't think I could do it. I've found complete h22a engines with tranny for around $2000 - so that's pretty reasonable to start.

Thanks for any replies!

Welcome aboard

You should probably try the FAQ in the Honda Accord (1990 - 2002) forum.

There are threads on engine and manual trans swaps, including one on the H22 swap.
