From: Howcome we park on driveways, and drive on parkways?
It was my senior year of high school ('04) and one of my friends (parents) had bought a 2001 ITR the year before just about off the showroom floor. 17K miles, PY, immaculate. Well he was planning on selling it within the next week or so and there were a bunch of friends together and he had the R there. I begged for him to let me take her for a rip since he was selling her anyway. After 20 minutes of badgering, he finally gave in and we went for a cruise.... Basically crossover was way more than i was anticipating, torqued the wheel almost out of my hands, i missed second, got it in gear, still chirped second and mashed through 3rd.
I was hooked.
After another 10 minutes of crusin around he got behind the wheel and let her loose. GEE-ZUS-CHRIST... I was stunned. It handled on rails. Powerband was great. I HAD to have one. This started the search for a Type R I could call mine...
Well, from years and years of searching. Going to 5 different states to look at over 10 different ITR's Ive found out that my search was going to be a difficult one. If one more person told me to "bring my money, cause youre gonna wanna take it home" and me getting there to a mis matched rust bucket I was gonna lose it. LOL. People not giving proper information, lying about details of car, getting caught and trying to cover it up. ETC. Just such a hard search and a disappointing one.
One of my friends was on the hunt as well for a Black ITR in memory of our late friend who died behind the wheel of a JDM front Black 2000 back in 2002. He had told me since he knew I was searching daily that if i find a example as such to let him know. Well, last week SpoonRevs beat me to the black one that he recently re-posted for sale. I told my friend about it and he went to check her out and ended up picking it up last Friday. He was getting ready to head out the door and decided to do one last search for ITR's in the area and an ad popped up for a PY in Northeast CT. It fit my criteria, and at 8am my phone was going off the hook. He called me, left a voicemail, and texted me the ad and abusive texts telling me to wake up and call this guy.
I immediately called and within a few phone calls and some information exchange, I was on my way at 2pm to go look at what would be my 12th ITR to potentially purchase.
3 hours later as dusk set I arrived at the address. Lets just say, by the time the garage was half way open, i knew this was the best one yet. After some negotiation, we agreed on a price and I would return Sunday to pick her up. The father and Son owners were super caring, and seemed like they didnt want to let her go. They agreed on the price set only if i agreed to not drive her in the winter and assurance she wold be garaged. Both of which I was already planning on.
Over 8 years searching and i think I found the one was perfect for me. In my price range, 99% stock, ALL matching VINs. Clean title, carfax, and autcheck and the car is in pristine condition.
Im sure you guys will be seeing me post a lot more on this thread now that I am an ACTUAL TYPE R OWNER!!! The drive home was great, and the first spray wax and garage landing was even better. Not sure if its even hit me yet tbh. I keep thinking its not as nice as it is, or Im missing something, but I keep being reassured by all who see it.... SHES BEAUTIFUL!!!

Thanks fellas. Long time Ive been waiting to make that post.
thanks brah!
Just a few clicks under 88k. Body and paint would say otherwise. 50k seems to be the general guess of people of the mileage when they see it.

Not long before I had to make some changes so shes mine...

Shift **** was put on by previous owner but I never showed a shot of it. Other than the shift **** it has a OG Comptech Intake box, and 1" H&R Springs on stock struts. I have all OEM original parts in boxes.
Im feeling like I want to just do some OEM upgrades for now. Power folding mirrors, JDM Rear upper bar, JDM Sideskirts and rear valances, S2k Antenna, Shave all wipers. Toying with the idea of some cooling components but dont want to stray too far away from stock form.
Shes most certainly not my daily and my goal is to keep as little miles on her as possible. I would of course keep all my stock parts to be able to be returned to the form its in now, but now that I have it comes the battle of stock or mod. Im thinking tasteful stock for now......

hahaha!! Now now guys!!
Even though Yellow is the most predominant number produced, I feel its the most notable as a ITR. There were Black and White GSR's and LS and RS but never any Yellow. I knnowwwww obv not anywhere near as nice as Champ or FBP or NHBP but to the un-educated they might just think its any other Integra with a wing. HOWEVER, I would take a ITR in any color. Less theft issues for same reason with Black and White as well... Each their own and each has pro's and con's.WHAT!? YOU CRAZY! AINT NO OEM **** GOT TIME FOR THAT!!!... haha... People are all on the "oh turbo it", "jdm front", "build it" non-sense when they see it.... I just give them a firm NO. And when they look at me sideways I just say O.E.M... nuff said...
PM'd
Keep her as original as possible man, your taste is obviously very good though so I'm not worried about this one getting butchered :p Congrats!
