If you're importing, you might want to also ask for EPA and DOT approved regulations as well.

I thought that if meet FMVSS then it would meet DOT. I also know that the ITR's came in b18c6 which probably have the same compression as JDM ITR's. Im from california, and i just wanted to know if i could smog and register such a car. My plan after deployment was to either get a RSX base model for dirt cheap and buy a k20aR and swap it back and forth for smogs and DD. make it a real ITR clone. since US models came with sunroofs.

You're kind of sol since you're in california since their rules are much more strict than other states, but than again I might be wrong as there are companies that import car and sell them.

You probably want to see what CA and the US looks for in the FMVSS

Call Honda with your VIN and ask them to issue you a compliance letter. FMVSS compliance depends on manufacturing date.

In regards to the Integra Type R yes it does meet all regulations etc. I have a CDN ITR here in the Massachusetts.
