Alternator issue -- 3P wire harness/4P alternator
Looking for some advice on a issue i came across with my 93 hatchback EG:
The pigtail harness in the engine bay is a 3 wire connection however the alternator i just installed has a connection for a 4 wire pigtail. I found a thread on here but i forgot what it was called. somehow i cannot upload the pictures i took last night.
Can anyone help out?

Are you in Canada?
All '92 - '95 Civics had a 4 wire round plug. I'm guessing someone cut the plug off and spliced in a 3 wire oval pigtail from a '96 - '00 Canadian Civic. The missing 4th wire is for the ELD. You can either splice the original style pigtail back on (you can usually find these at junkyards, if not PM me, I might have one) or you can get another '96 - '00 alternator.

Thanks for the help. I managed to get it connected shortly after and left the 4th wire tied off. so far its been charging just fine i get 14.6v out of it while started with minimal load
