Default ABS worth fixing?

Hey guys, I have my ABS light on and pulled the code:

1 2 ABS pump motor

My brakes work fine. My question is: is this worth fixing? The part costs about $100 i believe. 95 Accord EX. Thanks.

ABS modules/units of that era were horrible. If you can get the part for 100 bucks go for it,although I think you are mistaken on the cost.(unless that is for used,in which case you may simply be buying junk) Either way, ABS is beneficial in the event of a panic stop, but may prove to be too costly to repair properly....

don't bother.

Make sure you have good tires (not cheap junk) on your car, and of course brakes.

IMO, proper alignment trumps good tires over bad tires, provided both have equally good tread on them.

ABS is a solidly good feature, but if you cannot determine whether or not the pump motor work in that one I don't know if I would take the risk. Most people ignore ABS until it is needed the most. Given a car of that age I would use it as if it were non-ABS.

Good tires will suck if they aren't pointed correctly.

i've had the abs light come on recently in mine as well. each time, it was on a cold (for november in MD - high 30's low 40's) start in the morning. it came on and stayed on for the whole ride. next time i started it, no light. i took it in to my local shop because i needed to have some other maintenance done (just got the car a few months ago) and had the brake fluid changed because I was having the rest of the fluid maintenance done as well. The tech told me the abs pump was low, but didn't see any leaks.

Are these pumps known to leak or do they need to be replaced moreso for internal mechanical failure? Should I have them check the code history and see if anything is present? It did the same thing again just a few days ago, in slightly warmer weather, and then didn't come back on on the next start. Any info/experience shared with these is appreciated, thanks!
