Post EG no start one click help!!! idk whats wrong

Help i have a EG. stock motor vx small motor.
okay i had starting issues for some time now intermittent issues.
the car would not start sometimes for the past month.
there would be this like only one click when i turn the key to start.
i couldn't go outside and hit on the solenoid so i came with
a had a technique i did that often made it start.
i turned the key on/start on/start. constantly till it like clicks more than twice. like purging the key to start.
it works .

a day ago i noticed my battery voltage gauge i have in my car going to like 11.8 volts lower than normal. and like 11.5v etc. when engine on driving.
no alternator batt. light.

i came home tested the battery it was weak old school battery tester.
dang it show up weak. i assumed it was weak so i changed it.

i installed a yellow top performance optima battery the
due to the excessive accessories, gauges, and sounds i have in my car.

okay installed new batt. still one crank.
okay i did the trick and then it started.

checked my batt. voltage was up like 14.v to 15.v at idle. and went normal after. like 13.v to 12.voltage.
i let it idle. turn off.

start again one click. then it started up.
wtf. the battery light came on??
so im assuming my alternator is also bad????

turn off engine/ and it now officially cant start.one click now.
i hit solenoid still no start.

okay i want to know if what is the cause of the one click.
i changed the battery/ pos cable to starter. now it has batt. light in cluster.

ONE CLICK FML.....

do i need new starter/alternator.

no, but i tested the mini wire plug near the solenoid area. i connected a test light and cranked the key. the test light lit up. the ignition/neutral-switch/ignition switch/relay i assume is good?

try hitting the starter a bit if that works it could be the starter.
if you run your car and the battery is weaker than what it started with could be alternator also if you have a spare charged battery hook it up if your car starts again its probably the alternator.
just some ideas man something is better than nothing
