Icon2 Replaced Instrument cluster, fuel and temp not working?

I installed a new cluster today (with a tach) into my '95 dx sedan however, the fuel and temp gauges went all the way up and stayed there.

The guy I bought the cluster from said it was in working order when removed. Is there something I did wrong or are the gauges not working?

Not sure on the wiring, but I dont know if the non-tach and tach versions have the same pin-out. I'd hate to say you just ruined it but your going to need to reference the schematic to ensure everything is going where it needs to. If the pinouts are the same you got a defective cluster.

As stupid as it sounds my buddy did a cluster swap on his Integra and had issues like this and I told him to pull off the green film from the back of his old cluster and put it on this new one and it fixed all his issues. Maybe give that a shot. Might work or it might not.

From my research (Here and Here and Here) It's swappable without any issues.

The only thing I wasn't able to verify is if the donor vehicle is auto/manual would make a difference.

I successfully swapped a 90 si cluster into a 91 dx automatic, to use the tach, and everything worked first go. I dont know the pin-out by heart but it should be the same, keyword being should.

I would think they are all the same, but i cannot be sure about the cluster that has the fuel gauge only without the temp sender. I dont know if that is the same, again it could be, but youd have to reference a schematic.

Seller probably lied, and THIS is your problem.

Well I took it apart and checked it out according to this thread and did not find any broken or cracked wires.

If you install the original cluster and the fuel and temp gauges work properly, then the cluster you bought is bad.
