I have a 98 CR-V it has about 225k 5 spd and it has a issue starting in the cold. It makes a kind of grinding noise almost like if you hold the starter too long and you have to give it gas to stay running or it will stall. In the summer its fine but as soon as winter comes around I have this issue any Ideas as to what it might be? It has recently had a tune up and routine maintenance done.

 

a "grinding noise" is a pretty severe situation. you're probably best off having a local mechanic take a look at it.

 

I heard mine do that once....never heard it again..I know exactley what your talking about
