2005 Civic CKP codes
Hey guys I have friend with a Civic that is need of some help. She was driving the other night when the car randomly stalled out on her. The CEL came on. Although she was able to restart the car and eventually get home, it continued to stall and did not accelerate properly.
She doesn't have the money to fix it, so I offered to lend a hand. I am a Prelude owner and have been for 7 year; I have spent some time under a few Hondas.
So I pulled her codes and i am getting a P0344 and a P0340; both point to the Camshaft position sensor. I was thinking that perhaps her timing belt has skipped a tooth?? But it seems to be not-uncommon for these CKP or TDC sensors to go.
Does anyone have a way to test the sensor without having to take the whole valve cover off???
Does anyone have any other suggestions as to what could cause these symptoms and codes to be displayed???
Any help would be appreciated.

1. With the ignition OFF, disconnect the sensor connector
2. With the ignition ON, measure for voltage between yellow/black and brown/yellow on the harness side of the connector
the sensor is bad if you measure battery voltage
if you don't measure battery voltage there's a break in the wire between the sensor and G101. G101 is the ground on the engine block near the thermostat housing
And, as always, check for bad connections
