The track sucked, 8 degress celius and no traction. I was launching at 3000, I tried 4000, and I just spun like crazy. The time sucked, but I was not the only one having problems. The ITR ran a 15.3

I guess that no one like my sucky times I just could not hook up at anything over 3000. I needed to stick a 6000-7000 launch to break into the 13s, but that just did not happen.

Here are my slips from the 4 runs that I got in. I ran on my 16" drag radials, but the track had no traction. When I first got there, I launched at 6000, and tried to slip the clutch and ride it out. This was my worst 60' time of 2.6 seconds.

I progressively lowered my launch RPM and found that launching at 3000 gave me 60' times of 2.3 and even one 2.2 seconds. With good traction at the track, I should be hitting 2.0 second 60' times, but that is what guys with slicks were hitting, when they should be getting 1.8 second or so 60' times.

To get good times with a Honda, you need to be able to launch and hook up at 5000 RPM +, so that you are in your power band, and you accelerate quicker. Since this did not happen, my times sucked

Isn't that one of the faster drag strips in Ontario?

Cold is good for the engine but bad for track grip. I bet if it was a few degrees warmer you would have had better traction.

With all your mods like the jun cams you only ran a 14.6?

Did you try feathering the clutch during you launch to regain traction ?

I did, but it is difficult to slip the CM stage 3 clutch. When that happened, I bogged. I will post a video of the first run.

Did you read the entire post? I launched at 3000, because it was a very cold day at the track and there was almost no traction. I am not ashamed of the time, for the conditions it was okay. An ITR on drag radials ran a 15.3 by comparison.

To break into the 13s, I would need to hookup after a 6000 or a 6500 rpm launch so that I would be right at the start of the power band, and there just wasn't any traction for that type of launch.

I started at 20 PSI and worked my way down to 17, each run lowering it by 1 PSI. I only got 4 runs in three hours, so I never got enough runs to experiment get the best setup for the track on that particular day.

Try 15psi and spin them to get the rocks and dirt off.
