can some one explain to me why is the rear tire is so pushed back and so close to the rear bumper?
is there a purpose to that?

 

The wheelbase is extended using the ks tuned rear trailing arm kit

 

Nothing awkward about the setup they have extended the wheelbase by using custom trailing arms by KS tuned.

 

A few companies make an adjustable rear suspension setup, extended wheelbase makes the car hook better and be more stable, but it's against the rules of some sanctions to extend the factory wheel base and others are limited to how much you can extend it

 

Awkward? It's a good idea, the hatch is even further back iirc

 

Wilson competition manifolds makes a setup like this as well
