I have a 95 cx with a d16z6 swap and 2 1/4 straight pipe and I want it a little quiter but not stock sounding and was wondering what you guys would recommend? Or if you could point me in the right direction? I really appreciate how friendly you all are, thanks!

 

add a resonator

 

stick a obx mugen twin loop on there. thatll quite her down

 

I just installed a 12" summit racing glass pack muffler on my civic where the cat is suppose to be and was surprised at the sound. Not loud but still loud enough. Plus there less than $30 or less on ebay. I'm about to remove the fart can thats smashed in due to its angle and lean and replace it with a 2ft glass pack and see if that makes it sound better. I cant stand the raspy sound with vtec comes on.

 

The small turbo mufflers by dynomax/cherry bomb/whoever else are pretty decent. I ran one of those on my 95 with a z6, header, 2.25 pipe, and no resonator or cat. It was louder than stock but still mellow and didn't have drone inside the car.

 

what made OP think a straight pipe would be quite lol ? sounds like complete **** when I hear kids with their stock civic straight piped.
