Default 93 Ej1 Coupe Project

So i got this car in september of this year i had a 2001 wolfsberg jetta with a 1.8t motor it was my baby i did everything i could to it till one day i was going 90mph down the Long Island Expressway when my timing belt broke i traded a guy from Penn. for the car this is it when i was on the craigslist ad.

Even with picture i still saw potential

The next picture is oil leaking from the valve cover (due to stripped valve cover bolt holes) as well as striped head stud holes so oil all over, and some fluid is power steering from the rack

The next pic is my donor car i picked up 2 weeks ago for 200$ no title so im taking the motor, wheels and the tail lights (also if anyone needs anything just pay shipping and throw me something for taking it out and you got it )

so when i looked at the car i figured it was a d16z6 like the motor thats in my Ej1 so i proceeded to take it out

a couple of days i was cleaning the motor to get ready for new gaskets and timing belt, watter pump, plugs, etc when i noticed this if you look at the car would you ever think that this would be in it ? D15B it surprised the **** out of me ....

This came off my D16z6 i sanded it down and getting ready for it to be painted

Well any way ill be posting Pictures of everything that i do on this so stay tuned

nope not a problem, basically i got the car late september since that the cars been sitting on the side of my cousins house. It got to a point 2 weeks ago that i was sick of not having the car and cant do anything (wash it do my raido etc...) because i cant drive it (cause of the oil leak) so the d15b is going in there till the sumer of next year..... but anyway i just want the car to run right now so i can do the little things us guys like to do.... but the main goal for by next summer is i have a B18ls block and head. Im gonna go forged internals, Prob Eagle Rods,Pistons, gonna go Boost its gonna be my daily to a point im gonna drive it ALL THE TIME but i have a 04 passat thats my true daily with everything i need, i like the purple so i am going to keep it get the body all cleaned and fresh (uncle owns body shop) so thats the plans for right now my main goal as of right now at this second is put the d15b in and drive the car over 5mph witch is the fastest iv done so far in it pulling it to where it is now lol

Sanding and painting that valve cover might be a fun little project, since you're cleaning up the motor.

This was done over a year ago with dupli-color red engine enamel with ceramic. I did it not really knowing much, So I never put a clear coat on or baked it before putting it back on the head. Thankfully It still looks as shiny as when I first did it! other than the few niks and cuts in the paint.

Used a bottle of engine degreaser(sanding it while degreasing it) Sanded it down, sprayed I think 5 layers of paint, Let it sit over night. But it back on the engine, heated up the engine for maybe 5 minutes then turned the car off. Came back to it later that night and it was finished. I guess you could say heating it up with the engine was my baking method. The oven wasn't mine, There was no way my mother would allow me to put a valve cover in the oven haha.
