Crx hood will not open.
So after my z6 swap I installed the hood and could not get it to close. I fiddled with some stuff and finally sort of forced it closed. I know it's not the cable or latch. It worked fine before. The cable has tension it just won't ever pop the latch. Any tricks to opening the hood any help would be appreciated.
My car hood does the exact same thing, I have the swap also. I have to have another person around, or jam a screwdriver into the latch pull in the car and press the hood down myself. Its annoying.
Yup, mine was on the passenger side of the hood. You have to press down on it and pull the lever. I took WD-40 and sprayed the crap out of it and I haven't really had an issue since then. It's something with the lock mechanism that isn't functioning correctly.

Got that motor swapped and running and now it decides to fight you. Good luck with the hood, I think the pressure and a flathead like what was stated above will be your best bet, with a good spraying of WD40.
I just went to the gas station and asked someone to pull the lever. Easier enough. Most people will give you 45 seconds of their time.
If you roll down your diver window and stand out of the car, you can pull the hood latch with your right hand and hit the top of the hood with your left hand. It works for me.
This happened to me on the two civics I have owned. As others have said, someone needs to push down on the hood while another person pulls the release lever.
Once you have it open, clean the hood latch with degreaser - it's likely stuck due to accumulated dirt. once it's clean, re-grease and you should be good.

There is some adjustment on both the latch and the striker in the hood. If you look past the grease below the spring, there is a flat-head screwdriver spot that you can unscrew.
Yea I never heard or seen anything about it either. But another guy earlier in the thread has same swap same problem. When I did get the hood open my plug wires looked like they kinda were smushed around. Could be a number of things I'm not sure. Might try to find a piece of cardboard big enough to cover the bay and push the hood down on it to see trouble areas indentations on the cardboard see what I come up with.
