Default seeking help with building B20VTEC Turbo

Hi...i'm a noob here and also where i come from (Bangladesh) we dont have much technical expertise or parts available. we have to import all parts from abroad and go for trial-and-error method to make things work. so please excuse if the questions sound dumb or obvious...i'm here for help and to learn.

I have a JDM '96 Civic SiR with B16 which i fully built to make it 10k rpm. however, recently the engine suffered from ringlanding and now its out of commission. So i am thinking of moving to forced induction from a high-compression high-revving NA setup.

Now, i cant find a B18 block here and my only option is to stick with b16 or b20 block with my ProComp B16 head. Please keep in mind that all motors are JDM here. also, the machine shop work is really crap here so i dont want to sleeve my block. thats why i am thinking of opting for the b20 block with 84mm low-comp pistons.

My question is, approx how much boost or max whp can the b20 block survive without sleeving? if i dont sleeve the block and put Wiseco 84mm Bore, Std Size, -18cc Dish, 8.4-8.8 Comp Ratio pistons? and with this setup, what can be a realisting whp i can expect to get out of it while still keeping it very reliable?

Thank you in advance for your expert advice.

you should realize from your NA build that your location puts you at a disadvantage with some services (like you've already stated) but it also makes everything more expensive, since the bulk of the market is US based (some in Europe but it's mostly suppliers of US companies with much higher prices (currency conversions)) not to mention the cost of shipping the needed parts will cost almost as much as the build itself

yes i realize that....but i guess passion takes over. i had to spend a lot of money for the NA build itself. but importing the parts is not the problem...its the knowledge or lack thereof. so i need help and suggestion from the experts here for choosing the right stuff to make the build work. For my NA build, i bought everything from Singapore and brought it back with me...total 109kg luggage and paid about US$1600 in overweight But due to lack of knowledge here, i didnt know that eagle made crappy cranks and had to buy the oe crank again after spun rod bearing which cracked the crank

Yea stick with OEM, unless you're trying to stroke the motor, an OEM crank will take whatever you can throw at it.

If you wanted a sleeved block you could either try to find a used one in the classifieds on here or have one sleeved and machined here and still come out on top vs. having it done over there (sadly lol) I would suggest looking at the FI classifieds and see if you can find some of the parts you need/want to try and save a few dollars

thanks for the advice....but it really doesnt answer my specific questions i can buy the block in malaysia/singapore and have them sleeve it and ship to me. but if i can get away with using lo-comp std bore pistons on a stock b20 block that saves me more $$$

yea I know, I was just trying to help you out with the cost aspect of your build, whatever route you choose.

I haven't messed around with anything B20 related in 6-7 years lol
