Battery questions?
I just swapped a b20 in my 98 civic coupe. Can I keep using the old battery?, the thing is my battery keeps dying. Can it the new motor be draining the battery? I know it can be a simple fix and just buy a new one.
Yea the alternator is cranking the engine over, and I've been jumping the battery over and over and after it charging for a long while it turns on. But when I try and leave it on it just dies.It seems to be losing juice idk why? Should I just get a new one. And if I do get a new one and the same thing happens what can it be? It's getting fuel and spark the only thinks else I can think of is the starter but its cranking hard.

Batterys dont keep the engine on. The alternator does. And alternators dont TURN your engine over. Starters do.
Start the engine and put a voltmeter on the battery post. It should be 13.6 minimum.

It was at 12.3 when I check and yea I was thinking it may be the starter but its cranking fine. I know the alternator is fine because I got the engine from HMO and I know everything on the long block is straight. But I did buy the starter from Craigslist the dude may have sold me a faulty starter.
So I should just buy a new buttery huh? Thanks for replying guys, i appreciate the help. I usually get ******** on my threads. I check everything more than once before I come on here and ask for help.
