Strange 2nd Gear grind on rebuilt prelude
I pulled the trans of my little brothers 2000 Preulde SH. It was bought as is, not shifting into any gears while running. Turned out the previous owner drove the clutch until it started grinding into the springs...
Replaced the clutch and flywheel
Rebuilt the trans with the Syncrotech kit, new bearings, syncros and seals. this is my third H/F transmission rebuild, everything went as planned
Put everything back together, with lots of swearing directed at the atts unit.
Car drove great, shifted butter smooth into all the gears, no strange noises. About a week later my brother says that it is shifting like there is no syncro in second gear, no matter how good you matched the revs, or eased it in it would grind alot. He doesn't even use second gear right now it is so bad.
What could cause something like this to go bad all of a sudden? If it wasn't shifting right from the beginning i would have said maybe assembly error or maybe syncro sleeve?
Does have the ATTS light on, some code for ecu communication line. This couldn't be related could it?
Any help is appreciated, I would like to have an idea what to look for before tearing into this again...
