Icon6 99 accord won't start what did I do wrong

I have a 99 accord that won't turn on lights go on when key is turned but no start, I recently replaced the electric wire switch and it came with new keys so I had to replace the whole thing didn't have the tools to check if the new switch was gonna work so I had no choice but to just simply try it out, everything is put back into place but now car don't turn over I seen online that before the job got done I needed to remove the battery cable but didn't do that could this be the reason my car won't start? Or would me having to use new keys be the issue? I'm new at this whole do it your self but I'm a fast learner, know more then a female should know about Hondas nd we'll really just want to get my car running again can't afford to take it to the honda place right now so if anyone could help I'd really appreciate it thanks

It is due to the keys......there is an immobilizer system on these. Meaning the key is programed to the ECU/PCM.

You can "try" taping the "head" of the old key and new key together and see if the car will start.

What you need to do is put the old "key cyl" part back on the car....old keys. The electrical part of the switch, you can leave the new one there.
