Default ek transmission problem

Hey guys, my ek has a super loose shifter (in 3rd it can go wobble around easy) and I can't get into reverse, I know it has reverse because before I bought it I saw the guy reverse it out onto the road. Also I'm have troubles getting into 5th. If you guys can say anything that would be great and I'll try my best to answer all questions with my knowledge.

Check the linkage bushings first. Poor or missing bushings will make it very difficult to find gears. Ensure the linkage was not bent, check for scraping or other deformation. If you have problems in these two areas, fix those first. Engine mount problems can cause the shifter to walk around during shifts. Anything else would be internal to the transmission.
