Default 90 accord keep running

1990 Honda accord manual f22a

The car continues to run without the keys. The radio still turns off and on with the turn of the key but the dash lights stay on even with keys completely removed. I already replaced the ignition switch wire going from fuse box to ignition and nothing changed. Completely confused

Unplugged ignition switch from fuse box. Dash lights still on and car starts when jumping the starter. I would like to also say that the starter would never work through the ignition. Had to rig a new wire and relay to jump the starter everytime I want to start the car.

OK guys an update problem still exists. Plugged up the battery without the keys and my dash lights are on and car can be started. Ignition switch and main relay are unplugged to rule those out. So somehow I have power going to the ignition coil and dash as if the key is in the on position.

Not the best with anything electrical or reading wiring diagrams but it looks like either something is faulty with the under dash fuse box or the ecm is bad. Not sure how to go about starting tests but I will update with more progress as soon as I'm able to make some

check the under dash fuse box for corrosion behind it. also look for corrosion around wires coming from underhood fuse box as well. un bolt and pull out.

does your car leak water onto the floorboard on the inside of your car?
does your car have a sunroof?
did you replace the ignition switch itself?

get a manual for your car if you can to get wiring info. i would definitely start with looking for corroded wires, chewed through wires. ive even seen that, from a mouse nest.

Yep sunroof leaks drilled holes to keep the way from puddling up LOL. I know I know retarded. Its a beater car. Ill definitely attempt moving the fuse boxes to look for messy wires.

Alright....I unplugged the cruise control switch and now everything is back to normal. Suppose ill check the cruise circuit for a short but never use the cruise ever anyways so no rush.

How I found out:
1.Turn the engine off my cutting vacuum to fpr.
2. Started unplugging every switch I could find til the lights when off and when I could hear the main relay clicking off

It sounds like you got a relay sticking in closed position. Perhaps main relay ? It's not at all common but not unheard of.
