Short Ram Air Intakes for Type R
im having problems finding short ram air intake systems for my b18c (type r) type r motor. AEM only offers CAI and injen doesnt mention type r as one of models compatible with their intakes. Its either LS, GS, RS, or GS-R. I have a 98 type r motor in a 94 Integra LS.
1) Would i be buying an short ram air intake system for a GS-R then? I know the LS and GSR air intakes are different.
2) Does anyone know who makes those huge air intake systems? I forget the model or company name.
I currently have a aem CAI and live in maryland so weather is rainy and snowy. Ive heard bypass valves suck and take a toll on power which is why Im choosing not to install one, unless someone can explain different and why its worth the $56. thanks!

a gsr wont work the throttle body sits way to low on the gsr vs the itr. if I was you, and this is what I did too with mine was I just got a oem itr intake arm. its 3" I believe and the rubber actually diminishes heat soak its also a lot smoother on the inside than the other oem intake arms. with mine I have the oem intake arm into a ct icebox with a circuit hero velocity stack which works with a k/n filter and I love it compared to my old weapon r intake

Buy mandrel bent tubing with the correct angle in diameter you want, cut to fit, add Velocity stack and wrap with heat tape. Better intake then any pre-made option for less money.
Or post in a forum where other people have probably encountered this specific problem. We just buy ITR intakes as our cars come stock with the motor.
Personally, a stock airbox with no resonator is as good as any filter-on-a-stick.

From: TRILLINOIS....WAY downtown, jerky.
I used an no-name tube for a LS on my ITR. Just look for one with 2.75 or 3" piping. I painted it crinkle black. I used a stock intake box....any integra intake box is the same. I removed the resonator and ran a large diameter duct to the bumper area area where the stock resonator sits.
Looked, sounded, and worked great.
Or buy an ITR stock intake arm and do the same thing with the intake box. Looks so much better than an ugly filter and stick intake....and it sounds 100X better.

I'm curious about this, too. When i was looking, i did find a short ram aem type r, it had a different model number than ls/gsr. I didn't purchase it, though because i was broke at the time, so not too sure if i still know where to get it.
