Clutch or transmission help!
Alright this is a tough one,I've had this 1990 crx with a b20 turbo it drives fine but 5 gear kept popping out occasionally, then yesterday it started popping out every five seconds, I had to hold it in place so I could drive I drove around 30 miles like this, then I stopped at Walmart them drove another 15 miles like this then decided to drive in 4th gear, about 5 miles down the road I pushed in the clutch shifted into 5th let off the clutch and still 4th, I pushed in the clutch and moved the stick around let off the clutch and still 4th. I pulled over at a gas station turned off the car violently shook the stick in all directions started the car put it in first position tried to take off then the car didn't move and died. Not like a stall though, then an odd smell was present, some guy said it smelled like the clutch, after about 10 minutes of frustration I started the car it won't even go into neutral, I revved it high and popped the clutch it died and smoke came out from under the car and that was the end of that, had a friend trailer it to his house, I'm guessing trans, clutch ,shift cable but I'm kind of stooped, there are no leaks and the clutch stops it from dying, the clutch is hard to push in, let me know if you need more info to ever can help

Yup. And you deserve it after that story. You didn't get out, check the linkage? You just revved it like you were going to do a burn out even after it was showing signs of wear. That's a foolish idea. Maybe your gears are worn down inside the transmission, that could cause the popping. Maybe your clutch came unsprung and there are now springs flying around bashing the inside of your trans. Maybe you broke a fork inside. Maybe the throwout bearing was just going bad. You could have just taken it home and inspected the trans and clutch.
It's a B20, not stock engine, turbo, not available from the factory. You really should be careful with those two things.

I was an hour and a half away from home in 100 degree weather on the highway with a broken leg when my car started to shake. I told my friend to pull off the road since he was driving. My alternator was smoking. We pushed my car 3 miles to the next exit and into town to the sears and got it fixed. There is no excuse for bad decision making.
Yup. You need the clutch for the B18 trans though. B-series is B-series and will always be B-series.
