Default Del Sol color choices?

Hey guys, I am looking into getting a del sol and had a question. I remember seeing something saying the del sol vtec was only offered in like 4 colors. Does anyone know what they were? I am thinking red, black, blue, and maybe that metallic green color? Just curious. Also were the colors trim specific (s or si), like the samba green or captiva blue? I am having a hard time finding any Del Sol Vtecs in my price range, so I may just have to find an s and swap or an si and turbo. And if you dont mind me asking what did everyone here pay for there del sols? Thanks a lot, any help is appreciated!

The VTEC models were only offered in three colors. Red, black and a dark green. I have a Milano Red Si and personally I will never own another red Honda simply because they are known to fade very badly. For example, the mirrors and bumpers have a tendency to fade over time. Really any of the plastic pieces. Check it out, next time you see red del sols look at their mirrors. This is almost the case with every single one of them. It's not a lack of maintanence or care for the vehicle, just a flaw in the paint. The Samba green was only available on the Si, but the blue I believe was available on both the S and the Si. As far as price goes, I got a really good deal on mine in Wichita Kansas. The dealer had mistaken the car for a S model when really it was a Si. I picked it up with a little over 49,000 on the odometer for $5,200.00 Good Luck to you in your search for a del Sol. One last thing if I may make a recommendation...get a 95 or up so that you won't have to deal with a leaking top.

Cool, thanks a lot. Looks like if I am able to pick up the dohc vtec model it will be black then. The milano red is nice, my friend has it on his civic, but i really dont like red. I think that green might be cypress green metallic. But I might just look around for a nice samba green si, although all my friends think the color is disgusting. But then again, they all say the Del Sol is a girls car, so I cant pay them to much attention. Thanks again.

Hey, thanks a lot Steve, your site seems to be very informative. Looks like I will be stuck reading the articles for awhile, till I can find a captiva blue or samba green Del Sol! Thanks again guys!

Yeah, thats what I am leaning towards. That way I have more of a choice as far as an engine, plus I can get a lighter s or si model. I think that would be better than buying dohc vtec sol and having it painted. Now I just have to find one. I also got an insurance quote, and was quite surprised. I have liability on my crx, and pay 550 every 6 months. The sol would only be like 800 for full coverage. I always thought it would be more expensive, I didnt know if they technically classified it as a convertable or not. Oh well, the search is on....
