Ok guy I have a 00 gsr sedan and is smoking a lot I was thinking that the pistons ring are bad so I did a compression test and here are the numbers 1# 240,2#230,3#235,4#230 now I am am not sure is the valve seal are bad so my question is how can I know if my valve seal are bad or is another thing that can make my car smoke the car have 206,xxx miles I know that a lot lol and SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH LOL

 

Headgasket is leaking. White smoke means your engine is burning coolant.

 

Check hydrocarbons in your radiator or overflow tank. Remove your plugs and see if there is a slight tint of green on them.

 

But if is burning coolant when I take the oil cap off have to be white o they can burn coolant with out the cap get white and another think I forget to say is burning oil bec I have to be putting oil and my back bumper is black bec all the oil coming out of the muffler

As mentioned, white smoke = burning coolant.

If HG is only leaking between cylinder and coolant passage you will not see white on oil cap as coolant is not leaking into oil galleries .

You can pick up a hydrocarbon testing kit at most auto parts stores ant test the coolant for HGs to confirm, however with the white smoke I would just pull the head and replace the HG.

Because of the oil problem I would pull the head for a valve job, in which case you need a new HG anyway. 94

 

white on the oil cap usually is moisture n the oil.

If I was doing it, [going through the trouble of pulling the head] I would go the whole 9 yards, have machine shop check head for warpage, valve lap, seals and guides.

It may not need it all but it is a 12 year old car and can't hurt, better to do it now then to reinstall everything only to find out guides are gone or head has a slight warp or valves themselves are bad, or something goes 6mo. down the road. 94
