Default 00 civic em1/jdm type r swap - rev limits at 2k-3k rpm

Ok guys I have a 2000 civic em1 with a jdm type r swap. I just recently did the swap and it starts up. The idle is good but the problem is that when I try to drive or rev the motor, it limits the rev to 2k-3k max. Im running a jdm p73 with stock em1 engine harness. I rev the motor and its really sluggish like there is no power. Any help would be appreciated.

Your CEL should be on. Pull the code, post it. If it isn't on, it probably doesn't work. Why are you running a JDM P73, and not a USDM P73?

Its showing cel code 20 which is ELD. Would that be the problem why its like that? Im using a jdm p73 since it came with the swap. Would a usdm p73 be better?

Considering you're using a USDM wiring harness, in a USDM car, yes. You'll also be able to plug in a code scanner with a USDM ECU, which you can't do with a JDM ECU.

The ELD wouldn't cause that, though - it sounds like a vtec problem. Since the JDM ECU doesn't look for a pressure switch, the JDM ECU might not throw a CEL for certain vtec-related problems, which is another reason to run the USDM ECU. You should check your timing and spark color while you're under the hood, too.

I used a usdm p2t ecu and it does the same thing. I did the ckf bypass too as well. Wat should the spark color be? Blue?

White. White with a tinge of blue would also be acceptable.

Is this a CTR B16B swap, or an ITR B18C swap?

Do NOT use a P2T on a B18C - you're going to lean it out. Either use the proper ECU, or use a chipped and tuned P28 with a jumper harness.

Run the proper ECU so you can get the proper CEL codes, and work from there.
