00 civic em1/jdm type r swap - rev limits at 2k-3k rpm
Ok guys I have a 2000 civic em1 with a jdm type r swap. I just recently did the swap and it starts up. The idle is good but the problem is that when I try to drive or rev the motor, it limits the rev to 2k-3k max. Im running a jdm p73 with stock em1 engine harness. I rev the motor and its really sluggish like there is no power. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Having trouble!!! Need help!!!
Its showing cel code 20 which is ELD. Would that be the problem why its like that? Im using a jdm p73 since it came with the swap. Would a usdm p73 be better?

Considering you're using a USDM wiring harness, in a USDM car, yes. You'll also be able to plug in a code scanner with a USDM ECU, which you can't do with a JDM ECU.
The ELD wouldn't cause that, though - it sounds like a vtec problem. Since the JDM ECU doesn't look for a pressure switch, the JDM ECU might not throw a CEL for certain vtec-related problems, which is another reason to run the USDM ECU. You should check your timing and spark color while you're under the hood, too.
