Default Automatic Transmission Modifications

Has anybody done or know somebody that has done it? I am looking to modify the line pressure for firmer shifts. I know blocking certain accumulators and changing certain springs will do it but I don't know which ones can be blocked or what springs can be changed. Also does anybody know of a company that offers a performance torque converter besides Level 10? I need a true performance converter not just one with bent fins or modified fins.

I doubt you will find much for the autos. If a real performance tranny company would play with them I'm sure they could be modded to handle some serious power, but nobody does. I have seen very little out there for import autos.

The transmission shop I usually go through for rebuilds said he could put better clutches or racing clutches in it but to boost pressure or firm up the shifts he doesn't know which acc valves to block off or what to modify in the valve body. He did say that he could mod the TC to raise the stall but that's about it and his supplier did not have a perf TC.

It's pretty hard to do anything with them to make the strong, it's a basic design issue. Basically Hondas aren't a planetary setup, it's more a less a manual trans with clutch packs instead of sleeves and hubs.

OP if you're planning on making some real power the best thing you can do is stick a 5 speed in it.

I was thinking of doing the swap, but I already have a 5spd play toy (87 Supra Turbo, 165,600 original miles). I wanted to stay automatic because my wife can't drive 5spd and would like her to be able to drive it too. My transmission guy says he can put racing clutches and upgraded steels in it and make it stronger, it was just firming up the shifts by closing accumulator valves that he has never done. He built an auto out of a civic before and it held a good amount of power, now I'm not trying to go through the roof with power but I'd like it to handle some serious power for reliability.
