Still drying the track. Sun is back out. Should be racing within the next hour to hour and a half. All classes starting with index cars will get one qualifying session tonight.
Anyone happen to know the current et records for the classes competing this weekend. I like to be familiar with them as I watch the event.
Qualifying will start at approximately 5 p.m. We will start calling cars to the lanes shortly!
Charles Webb running 10.00 Index in his 93 Civic looks like he lost a driver's fender and door at over 142 mph and did a nice job keeping the car off the wall. Parts are picked up and we are back to racing!

Qualifier #1
Jeff Harrington II 6.57 @ 216
Mo Hall 6.51 @ 205

Robbie Pafumi 10.94 @ 86
No info on the blue Lexus in the left lane against the 67 Nova. The Nova jumps in both bulbs building boost and is stopped as courtesy staging is in effect and so they restage the car and they launch and something let go in the trans at half track and we have a clean up while the Lexus launches and stalls
Carl Brunet 6.45 @ 216
Harry Jarvis 6.73 @ 171
Brunet with a nice run in Mike Edwards old pro stock GXP with the import motor while Jarvis had the chutes out at the 1000' mark and still lays out a nice number as you can see how much mph he lost

Nice side by side pair of runs in the imports as the crew went nuts as Illanas misses the top spot by 1 thou

Damon Chin 6.68 @ 173
Chin goes 4.18 to the 1/8th mile and was off the throttle early at the other end and still coasts to a nice run that will count while Pecchini smokes the tires on the hit running the 315 radial but he will get another shot as we had a little timing glitch somehow

Qualifier #1
Paul Curry 7.27 @ 197
Hector Martinez 7.52 @ 139
Martinez used up about every inch of track down track as that little red rotary was moving around big time while Curry in the nice looking radial Camaro makes a nice run
Raul Aceredo 14.45 @ 51
Kevin Fournier 8.39 @ 166
Aceredo was off the throttle almost immediately while Fournier in the nitrous Mustang takes it to the other end
Hector Martinez 7.52 @ 139
Juan Tellafo 7.89 @ 157 (DQ)
So Tellafo takes out some cones at the top end and his run is DQ'd while I believe that may have affected the ET of Martinez who could have another run if he can make it back in time
Dave Hinzman 7.04 @ 200
Ricky Fox 15.29 @ 59
Fox spins on the hit and Hinzman with a great hit goes to the top of the list
Shawn Cassady 9.76 @ 123
Erick Galarza 7.86 @ 162
Galarza from Puerto Rico used up a lot of track at the top end while Cassady spun on the hit
Alessandro de Luca 7.81 @ 163

De Luca from Puerto Rico vs Torres from Pennsylvania and De Luca goes #4 while Torres launches and is off the gas at the 60 foot

Andrew DeMarco 6.93 @ 207
Alex Ortiz 7.27 @ 185
DeMarco gets in the 6s and goes 4.58 to the 1/8th to Ortiz 4.66 and takes the top spot by over a tenth

Dennis Perez 8.16 @ 133
Javier Sanchez N/T @
Sanchez is pushed off after the burnout while Perez bogs off the line and then gets about 1000 ft and sparks fly and he shuts it down and word is the transmission blew up inside the car and the parts exited thru the passenger side window causing glass to go on the track
Roberto Vazquez 7.58 @ 184
#2465 8.07 @ 132
Vazquez with a decent run while the car in the right which we don't have entered in the system yet was off the throttle at the top end based on the mph
Jazz Perez 11.72 @ 62
Samuel Melendez 10.40 @ 83
Perez made a move toward the center then Melendez gets loose and up on two wheels as maybe he jerked the wheel as he saw Perez gets close to him and both drivers coast
Juan Illanas 6.95 @ 193
Jose Martinez 9.02 @ 125
1.02 60 for Illanas in the Rx-8 was hauling the mail and is the first import car to dip in the 6's and goes behind Demarco in qualifying while Martinez car was sluggish getting out of the gate

Sal Patel N/T @
Patel goes 4.96 to the 1/8th and spins around and crashes hard into the left wall luckily the other driver misses him in a wild wild ride
Pedro Marrero N/T @
Steve Drummond 7.01 @ 207
Drummond in the street car goes #3 with the Camaro almost dipping into the 6 second range. Marrero on the other hand had the chute pop out on the line
Luis Rivera 8.64 @ 84
Jose Diaz 10.19 @ 48
Rivera gets towards the top end and gets dangerously close to the wall and pulls the chutes and from what I can see he didn't touch the wall but Diaz in the right lane went right towards the wall then over corrected and comes back across the track and made contact with the left wall right behind Rivera
Terris Hicks 18.30 @ 47
Hicks car was puffing smoke on the line and left very lazy and popped and stopped
