Would you re-use them?

This car is a stock build. No boost, no driving it hard, etc.. I drive it 5 minutes one direction.. Catch the commute van to/from work.. Drive the Integra 5 minutes home..

The car over-heated and caused a minor head gasket leak. I've limped along for over a year on the bad head gasket and finally just started fixing it..

I'm tempted to just reuse them. The head HAS been off once before, so this would be the 3rd torque on them..

I'm thinking about trying to use them and if they start creaking and popping while torquing, just ordering some..

Anyone?

 

If your willing to order new ones if those turn out to be bad, why bother to see if they're any good.

I wouldn't personally reuse them but you might be ok. It'd suck to do all that work then a few months later you get another leak cause one of the bolts were stretched.

 

in the time I've owned my integra the head's been off 4+ times now re used them every time no problems yet. but with a b20V on the way(i'm keeping my gsr head) i'll be doing ARP head studs well i'll need to just cause b20v lol but you get the point. you can but i'd be weary if you over heated it. that being said I over heated my civic (d16y7) and used the head bolts again no irregularities thing's fine....up to you.

 

Yeh, I need to measure them and see if they have stretched and go from there..
