Rebuild, Buy New or , What? 94 civic sedan.
OK I would like to say that this is gonna be short and sweet but Im not sure if that will happen.
I got a 94 DX sedan Auto all stock has roughly 200k on the clock.
I got this car on a steal, I traded it for a PS3 and a few games, so I am not into the car that much.
The car runs fine for what it is, It burns oil and leaks a little too. Does not leak water so that is a plus.
I drive 60 miles to work everyday and this car is so much better on gas than my other rig, My over all plans for this car is a clean stock(ish) 4dr that can turn some heads but also be very reliable and get me to work everyday.
So on to my questions,
To have a reliable rig would it be better to
1.throw some valve seals on it a head gasket change the easy seals?
2.Pull the motor and rebuild it back to stock in terms of seals and bearings?
3.By a "JDM" single cam and throw that in.
Thats about it. I plan to keep this car for awhile so if it turned into a longer project that is fine.
I am pretty much open to anyones suggestions, I have fairly thick skin (one thing the military taught me) so I can take the honesty.

Swap a b18a1(obd1) integra ls engine in you'll like the torque and the ease of the swap. or if you'd like the cheaper route just get a new(low millage) d15 block and roll with that.
I planned on swapping a 5spd in eventually but that was gonna be down the road.

Well I am not saying the engine is to far to be fixed or there is anything wring with it.
It burns oil from the valve seal and needs a head gasket, just needs some general attention.
All I wanted some input on was if it was wortha rebuild or not.

Pull the head, replace all the gaskets and valve seals, piece of cake job. Then you have a super reliable ride that gets awesome gas mileage until youre ready for other plans.
Agreed, if you just want a reliable daily driver just rebuild the head and drive it till it dies which will probably be many many many miles down the road.
Very valid point. Easy change with the head still on. He just mentioned something about changing it and if youre gonna pull the head, then go ahead and do everything while the head is off, oherwise just change the valve seals with the head still on.
I know that it can be done with the head on I just wanna pull it because I think that It is letting some oil into the water. It never gets above Normal Operating temp but the water seems to have little black/brown spots in it. So I thought since it will be torn apart why not do the top end and be solid.
